Details

This famous mosque was built in Itna Upazila by Delwar who was one of the Majlish of Isha Khan  one of the twelve Bhuiyas of Bengal. The mosque is locally known as ‘Gayebi Mosque’.  Historian Abul Fazal in his ‘Akbarnama’ mentioned the landlord of Jain Shahi pargana  and allies of Isha khan, Majlish Kutub and Majlish Delwar during discussion on Isha khan. The length, width and height of the three tombed mosque are 24 m, 9.5 m and 6 m respectively. There is a 13 m wide porch in front of the mosque surrounded by a wall. Azan is delivered from a high podium adjacent  to the wall. This mosque built in late sixteenth century with unique architectural style remains as flawless memorial of glorious history till today.
