Details

The Shahidi Mosque, a modern architectural and a historical spot is situated at the east edge of Kishoreganj municipality. The three storied  beautifully decorated building fascinate all. From historical source we have come to know that on October 24, 1942, the British soldiers on communal issu shot 12 Muslims and 5 among  them eventually died. Muslims scholars declared the dead muslims as shahid and since then the mosque got familiar as `Shahidi Masjid’. Another speciality of the mosque is that the mosque is established on numerous pillars. There are 128 pillars on the ground floor of the mosque. Late valiant freedom fighter  Syed Ashraful Islam, former LGRD minister, donated 20 lakh taka for building three storied building..
