Historical Shah Mahmud Mosque, an excellent architectural sign of the Mughal reign, is situated at the village of Egarosindur under Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district. The Mosque is 8 km away from Pakundia sadar and it is situated in the Egarosindur fort area. Shah Mahmud Mosque is one of the two nearby ancient mosques of the Mughal reign in Egarosindur village where as the another one is the Sheikh Sadi Mosque which is 250m away from the Shah Mahmud Mosque. At the time of subedar Shayesta khan, in 1664 eminent businessman of Egarosindur Shah Mahmud built Shah Mahmud Mosque having only one tomb. There is a boundary wall sorounding the mosque. There is a brick built house on the way of entrance which is called “Balakhana”. The mosque is decorated in inner and outer walls with easels of Sultani reign. There are four octagonal dombs at the four corners which altogether increase the beauty of the mosque. There are 3 doors at the east side wall. The middle door is comparatively bigger. The mosque is square shape with is a sign of Sultani architecture. The terracotta design adds the beauty of mosque. After all, this mosque attracts all due to its representation of artworks.
